Social Listening 

The brand I selected to look at this week for my social listening experiment was Amazon. I chose to view this company because I view it as one of the most successful companies in the world and the most successful company amid the pandemic. The company of Amazon has a value proposition of convience. The company is known for the subscription known as Amazon prime which allows you to have items the next day delivered to your door which allows you to save gas and not risk exposure to the virus by not going to the store. 

People are saying that amid the pandemic Amazon has been their saving grace, it allowed people to have some normalcy during the craziest times in their lives and allowed them to shop safely during the pandemic. I have also read that people are complaining about amazon not delivering packages at the same rate or correctly because of the overdemand the company is facing amidst the pandemic. I have also read that people enjoy the entertainment side of amazon during the pandemic which allows customers to rent movies and tv from amazon and even has a selection of free movies for Prime Subscriptions. The products the company is trying to market well are the entertainment side of their websites such as prime video and prime music. 

The company did not respond well to some of these comments. I have seen many comments from people who have not received refunds for lost products due to products being lost or not delivered due to demand. I would have responded differently. I would have acknowledged my mistakes as a leader and looked at ways to fix the mistake that was made by refunding or sending a new package to the customer. 

The company markets the value proposition of Amazon is what the company markets the most. Amazon is known as the one-stop-shop for the world. You can buy almost anything and have it delivered and have it delivered to your door in a very short amount of time. It also is one of the bigger streaming services for music and videos in the industry.  Amazon's biggest challenge when it comes to marketing is they sell some of some products as other websites. Amazon is a very big dealer for millions of brands and their main marketing issue is getting people to buy the products from them instead of going to the main website to buy the product.
